We'd like to spend the hour before our ceremony surrounded by our closest friends and family to celebrate the relationships and experiences that have helped us become the people we are today, and the people who will support us in this next phase of our journey. We will both be gathering in two separate places at the camp - everyone is welcome to attend either/both gatherings - and then will come together before walking to the chuppah.
Chuppah Ceremony
Our wedding ceremony will take place beneath a "chuppah". The chuppah - built by our dear friend, and officiant, Eitan Sussman, and beautified by a cover made my Evan's mom, Connie Lass, is meant to symbolize the home we will continue to build together. The chuppah is open on all four sides to demonstrate that our home will always be open to our beloved friends, family and community. Just as we intend to share our love with our friends, family and neighbors, our home depends on the love and support from our community (ya'll).
Reception & Dinner & Dancing
Following the Chuppah Ceremony, we'll have drinks and some light snacks. We'll be providing wine & beer and a non-alchoholic summer drink. You are more than welcome to bring additional drinks for yourself or to share with others.
Immediately after the ceremony, Amit and Evan will head off (possibly canoe off?!) for a few moments alone. This Jewish practice is called "yechud", and is a time for reflection, peace and eating! When we come back together, we'll gather for a spirited "hora!". If you join in, you'll be in the excellent company of Betty Ford:

Following the Hora, we'll gather for a wonderful meal together - prepared by our dear and beloved (and endlessly talented and extraordinary) friend, Alison and her phenomenal partner, Gwen - and then dance and hang into the night.
Attire
Come as you are! Truly! Please join us in whatever clothing will best support your feeling festive and comfortable during our time together! Please come prepared for hot, humid or rainy weather. We will have plentiful ice-water to keep you cool, and sunscreen available! Please consider bringing a sun hat, your favorite all-natural bug spray and sun screen and anything else to keep you comfortable! The festivities will be taking place at a camp with grass, dirt, gravel and wood-chipped ground, so please be sure to wear comfortable and sturdy shoes!

Saturday Afternoon at Camp!
August 26, 2017 | 2:00 PM - 6:00pm | Camp Tavor
If you're joining us for the potluck on Saturday, feel free to join us at Camp Tavor anytime after 2pm EST on Saturday to get settled and enjoy the camp surroundings. We'll be boating, swimming and hanging around camp until dinner at 6:30pm. Some of us might paddle over to Corey Lake Orchards for some cider and brandy tastings between 4:00pm - 6:00pm.
Potluck Dinner
August 26, 2017 | 6:30 PM | Camp Tavor
For those looking to spend the weekend with us, we hope you'll join us for a potluck on Saturday evening. We'll gather for a laid-back evening to share stories and songs. We'll supply the main dish, and we're asking that folks sign up to bring a salad, side, dessert or drink to share! If you RSVP for the potluck, someone will follow up with you to coordinate the potluck sign-up!
Sunday Morning Nosh
August 27, 2017 | 8:30-9:30 AM | Camp Tavor
For those spending the night with us at camp, we'll be providing a light "camp style" breakfast on Sunday morning. Please let us know if you'll be joining us! While we will not be providing lunch on Sunday, there are many options (many detailed below in "things to do"! You are so welcome to bring a cooler with a picnic lunch or you can head into town (Three Rivers or other local towns or Kalamazoo) for a bite. There is also a lovely farm-stand across the lake (Corey Orchards, accessible by car or canoe ride) with baked goods, fruit, veggies and pies galore!
Monday Morning Nosh

Camping or Cabins at Camp Tavor

Spend the weekend at camp with us! We welcome all friends and family to bring (or borrow) a tent to pitch and set up camp for the weekend on the camp grounds. If camping, you'll be welcome to use the camp showers and bathrooms. In addition to ample space for camping, there will be limited rustic cabins available for sleeping . The cabins have electricity, but no connected bathrooms. When you RSVP, there will be a question inquiring about your interest in staying at the camp. If you indicate your interests and needs, we'll be back in touch to figure out the details. If you intend to stay with us at Camp Tavor for either Saturday or Sunday night, please complete this form below so that we can reserve you a spot!

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Three Rivers is less than a 10 minute drive from Camp Tavor (just about 4 miles). We're holding rooms for our wedding guests until July 25th. Just ask for the Weitzer/Major block of rooms!

You can also find a number of alternative accommodations options in the nearby area. Other hotels in Three Rivers include: Americas Best Value Inn and the Super 8. Please note that Camp Tavor is located in Three Rivers, MI, and just about 30 minutes from Kalamazoo, MI.
Downtown Three Rivers is a small, historic downtown district nestled at the intersection of the Portage, St. Joseph, and Rocky Rivers, with nice parks and a small zoo. Though you're welcome to spend your time with us at Camp Tavor, you might want to check out some local gems:
